Helping Hoarders In Newcastle

A message from the owner

Here at Countrywide we specialise in helping hoarders, my own mum was and still is to some extent a hoarder and has been for decades, this is why we got into this area of hoarding house clearance help. We managed to help my own mum to declutter her property of the kind of stuff she had accumulated over decades she no longer needed, wanted or had any use for.

At times it was hard for her and us kids growing up living in a home extremely cluttered, from mountains of clothing and books, teddy bears and a house full of pets (it was like Jumanji in our home), to an almost obsession with not throwing anything away, either inherited or personaly purchased.

BUT TODAY she is mostly over her hoarding issues (there is no one stop easy fix despite what many so-called experts will say, trust me, we've been down many a path..., this is a serious mental health disorder) and now has a nice oragnised, clutter free home (compared to what it used to be like anyway...).

A home which is safe, habitable and above all else manageable as she gets older and is now a pleasure to visit as sons, daughers, relatives, friends and her beloved grand-children. It never used to be that way...

We can help you, just pick up the phone and I will personally answer it and be there to chat to you with no obligations in a non judgemental friendly manner. My name is Chris - call today if you are suffering and need help, any help...

A genuine customer testimonial from a hoarder in Newcastle who we have helped in the past:

"I am a hoarder in Newcastle and I desperately needed help with my hoarding situation in my 3-bedroom flat. It had become impossible for me and my children to move around freely. Thankfully, Chris and his team came to my rescue. Their team helped us declutter our home, making it a safe and functional space once again. They truly were life-savers for us.

Additionally, they went above and beyond by donating the excess items to animal shelters, which touched my heart as I'm a huge animal lover with several cats in our home. On top of that, they even cleaned our home, ensuring it was spotless and ready for us to start fresh. I am incredibly grateful for the help and support we received from team at Countrywide.

If you are a hoarder in Newcastle like me, I cannot recommend Countrywide enough. Their dedication to helping hoarders like us is truly commendable. They understand the challenges of living with excessive clutter and will work tirelessly to bring order back into your life.

From decluttering and organizing to donating to charities, they go the extra mile to make a positive impact throughout the community. Don't hesitate to reach out to Chris and the team if you need assistance with your hoarding situation. They are compassionate, professional, and committed to bringing relief and transformation to hoarders in Newcastle."

Understanding Hoarding in Newcastle

Hoarders are individuals who have a compulsive need to accumulate and hold onto large quantities of items that others may consider to be worthless or unnecessary. This behavior, known as hoarding, is often associated with mental health disorders such as obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) and anxiety. It can have a significant impact on both the hoarder's physical and mental well-being, as well as their relationships with others. In the city of Newcastle, there is a growing concern about hoarding and the need for effective ways to help hoarders.

Hoarders are often misunderstood and stigmatized by society. It is essential to understand that hoarding is not a lifestyle choice, but rather a complex mental health issue. Hoarders have a deep attachment to their possessions and find it challenging to let go of them, even if they are of little or no value. The thought of getting rid of their belongings can cause extreme distress and anxiety. This attachment can stem from various underlying issues, such as trauma, loss, or a need for control.

Hoarding & its impact

Hoarding can have a severe impact on a person's life, both physically and emotionally. The excessive clutter in their living space can pose a safety hazard, as it increases the risk of falls, fires, and other health hazards. The accumulated items can also attract pests and lead to unsanitary living conditions. Hoarding can also cause social isolation, as the cluttered living space may prevent friends and family from visiting. This can further exacerbate feelings of shame and guilt in hoarders, leading to a vicious cycle of hoarding behavior.

Helping hoarders in Newcastle

The first step in helping hoarders is to understand the underlying reasons for their behavior. Professional therapists and mental health experts can play a crucial role in this process. They can help hoarders identify and address the root causes of their hoarding behavior and develop coping mechanisms to manage their emotions and impulses. This therapy can also involve family members and loved ones to create a support system for the hoarder.

Another essential aspect of helping hoarders in Newcastle is providing practical assistance in decluttering their living space. This process can be overwhelming for hoarders, and they may need support and guidance. Professional organizers and hoarding specialists can work with hoarders to create a plan for decluttering, sorting, and organizing their belongings. This process should be done gradually and with the hoarder's consent to avoid causing distress.

Community support for hoarders in Newcastle

Community support is crucial in helping hoarders in Newcastle. This can involve educating the public about hoarding and reducing the stigma surrounding it. Community organizations and support groups can also provide a safe space for hoarders to share their experiences and receive support from others who understand their struggles. These groups can also offer practical assistance, such as organizing community clean-up days, providing transportation for hoarders to therapy sessions, and connecting them with resources for ongoing support.

In conclusion, understanding hoarders and their behavior is crucial in providing effective help in Newcastle. It requires a combination of professional therapy, practical assistance, and community support to address the root causes of hoarding behavior and support hoarders in managing their condition. With the right support and resources, hoarders in Newcastle can overcome their hoarding tendencies and lead healthier and happier lives.

Sadly, my brother passed away in his home, leaving behind a hoarding situation that was beyond overwhelming. The entire 2-bedroom house was filled floor to ceiling with accumulated rubbish from years of alcoholism, including rotting food and bottles of urine. It was truly an awful sight. But thanks to Countrywide, they were able to step in and bring about a remarkable transformation. Over the course of 4 days, their team tirelessly cleared and cleaned the property, removing an astonishing 6 van loads of waste. Their dedication and expertise were truly commendable, and we are forever grateful for their help.
